Procurement Specialist

Contract position: Engineering & Construction client is looking for a Project Procurement Specialist for a long term Contract assignment in Lancaster, PA. You need 3-10 years direct purchasing experience supporting industrial or heavy industrial engineering or construction projects. Specific experience on electric utility transmission & distribution line projects is a PLUS. ** Hourly rate is commensurate with experience & education **

Responsibilities for the Procurement Specialist

  • Perform commercial bid evaluations of supplier proposals & coordinate technical evaluations and recommendations to Procurement Manager
  • Route Bid List Approval Letter to appropriate signers
  • Create Stage 1 Approval Document and route for signature
  • Draft email communications informing bidders of upcoming RFP projects
  • Create and coordinate NDA's between vendor and client for upcoming RFP's
  • Coordinate Intent to Bid forms on RFP projects
  • Create and send Addendum's on RFP projects and then coordinate Addendum Acknowledgment forms
  • Process Change Orders and track approvals
  • Process Job Start forms into Requisition and route for approval
  • Electronically file Contract documents in Asset Suite to ensure Policy Compliance
  • Assist with Vendor Evaluation Analysis
  • Track critical path material and coordinate with third party material supplier

Requirements for the Procurement Specialist

  • You need 3-10 years experience as a Project Buyer/Purchaser or Procurement Specialist supporting engineering or construction projects
  • Client prefers candidates with experience in claims management
  • Client prefers candidate with a audit mindset to ensure documentation accuracy
  • Client prefers candidates with strong negotiation skills
  • You need experience with change order processing on engineering or construction projects
  • We are looking for someone local to Lancaster, PA
  • You need a BA or BS degree or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
