Operations Manager-Manufacturing

Our client has a job opportunity for an Operations Manager to be located at our plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager will be accountable for providing effective leadership and direction to the Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) Value Stream, specifically addressing Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. Additionally, the Operations Manager will drive consistent system improvements throughout all three shifts on LVT and lead the ramp up of our new line.
Key Responsibilities of the Operations Manager:
Modeling personal and organizational leadership to deliver an effective safety process, including Risk Assessments, Gemba walks, and successful 5S systems
Leading the sustainable improvement of product quality and customer service
Establishing LVT processes and measure quality performance through improving the utilization of Lean Manufacturing techniques including Kaizens, Visual Management, and effective root cause analysis and correction action implementation
Maintaining a high level of customer awareness throughout the value stream and focus on delivering material that meets requirements
Driving continuous improvement of LVT operations while collaborating with other departments on consistent systems across the site
Utilizing analytical tools to analyze process capabilities, including quality attributes
Implementing root cause analysis problem solving in order to drive the operation forward
Successfully coaching and teaching the LVT operations leadership and production teams
Driving organizational vitality and effectiveness within LVT operations through dynamic coaching and goal setting to drive a bottom up support structure with effective labor relations and building partnerships at all levels of the organization
 
Required Qualifications for the Operations Manager:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field
7+ years of supervision/management experience in a manufacturing environment
Extensive experience in Lean manufacturing
Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-functional team through a root cause analysis/problem-solving process
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and ever-changing priorities and meet established deadlines
Demonstrated track record in driving continuous improvement
