About the Position:

This position is located at the US Army Accessions Command, 1st Recruiting Brigade, Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion, Lakehurst, NJ. The Mid-Atlantic Recruiting Battalion is responsible for Army recruiting of quality Soldiers, both officers and enlisted, in the State of New Jersey, Philadelphia and the Greater Philadelphia Metro area.

This is a TERM Not To Exceed 13 Months appointment. This appointment may be extended up to total of 6 years. Contingent to specific conditions: Position may be converted to permanent career or career-conditional appointment without further competition. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.

* Develop modern and engaging multimedia content that promotes public awareness of the organization and supports the recruiting mission using appropriate virtual communication tools to reach the intended audience.

* Utilize multiple social media platforms as well as social media management tools to convey information and publicize the organization's mission.

* Monitor Army recruiting social media pages throughout the specified unit for appropriate, professional content and provide feedback and advice to page managers based on analysis of the content's effectiveness.

* Write a variety of articles and social media posts conveying information and clarifying the Agency operations, programs and activities to specialized audiences and the general public.

* Produce quality stories, photos, graphics and video products that educate the intended audience about Army opportunities and benefits and correct misperceptions about service.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience is defined as: (1) applying modern industry techniques to create engaging, effective multimedia content for use on various social media platforms such as, but not limited to, Spreadfast, HootSuite, Buffer, Likeable Hub or Social Pilot; (2) experience using the three major social media disciplines such as: social listening, social analytics and social engagement while managing the social media program of a brand, product, individual or organization; and (3) experience creating multimedia content using a combination of writing, graphic design, photo manipulation and video editing skills and software. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07)

Substitution of Education for the GS-09 level: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. (NOTE: If applying with substitution of education, you must attach copy of official/unofficial transcript. Failure to attach copies of transcripts will result in an ineligible rating).


Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
