Spyglass Corporate Services Group offers small and medium sized companies world class corporate services.  We are currently seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Finance team at our Lake Forest location.  We are looking for a perfect fit of education, experience and attitude that matches our company culture to support and enhance the Finance Department's effectiveness.

What you'll do:
  • Responsible to establish and oversee accounting procedures and internal controls for asset and liability accounts, revenue and expense accounts, and equity accounts to ensure compliance with accounting standards and operating procedures
  • Verifies source documents for accuracy, completeness, authorization, and coding, as well as proper allocation of fees, refunds, collections and discounts
  • Reviews financial transactions and applies accounting principles and theory to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable laws
  • Reconciles different G/L accounts, initiates corrective action
  • Responsible for inter company transactions, allocations and postings; reclassification; and various
  • Prepares month end closing process including preparing and posting journal entries
  • Responsible for calculating and posting all sales tax, property tax
  • Responsible for petty cash, calculating sales commissions
  • Track fixed assets including depreciation calculation; prepare fixed asset and depreciation schedule

Our Wish LIst:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, CPA preferred
  • Minimum three years experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of auditing and accounting tasks and tax knowledge
  • Extensive experience with fixed assets, bank reconciliations, audits and month end close
  • Excellent technical, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Advance Microsoft Excel skills
  • Well rounded in standard business practices
  • Oracle experience preferred
