Public Safety Officer I - Per Diem/Varies

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Saddleback Medical Center. The Public Safety Officer I works to ensure a safe and secure environment for all persons on the premises. They provide shift postings, vehicle and foot patrols, patient restraints, emergency preparedness, guest assistance, access control, and de-escalate hostile persons and situations. The Public Safety Officer I will have a general understanding of the security surveillance system. They will have extensive radio communication with the officers and the control room, and must effectively and efficiently respond to calls for service.

Experience

* 6 months working as a Public Safety Officer or Security Officer in a health care setting preferred.

* Law Enforcement/Military experience or equivalent experience preferred.

* Excellent guest relation skills required. Basic computer skills required.

Education

* Valid CA guard card required.

* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

* First Aid/CPR required within 90 days of hire.

* CPI/MAB required within 90 days of hire.
