USA Rugby oversees four national teams, multiple collegiate and high school All-American sides, and an emerging Olympic development pathway for elite athletes. USA Rugby is also the majority shareholder in Rugby International Marketing LLC (RIM), a for-profit entity that monetizes USA Rugbys commercial right

Job Purpose:

The CFO provides financial, operational, and programmatic support to three distinct corporate entities, directing and overseeing the department of accounting & finance. Internally, the CFO works with the executive leadership team on strategy and operations related to budget and financial management, cost benefit analysis, and forecasting. Externally, the CFO is responsible for effectively communicating the financials to various stakeholders including the Audit Committee and multiple Boards of Directors. The CFO is also the primary interface with third party banks and auditors. The CFO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of USA Rugby.

Essential Job Functions:

* Plan, direct and manage the accounting department including accurate financial reporting, balance sheet management, cash flow management, account reconciliation and control.

* Negotiate and monitor all credit agreements.

* Ensure policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.

* Continually plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organizations fiscal functionality and performance

* Participate in the development of the Companys plans and programs as a strategic and operational partner.

* Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of the budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities; Communicate this information effectively to a variety of audiences at all levels of the organization.

* Attend and actively participate in all Board meetings serving as a subject matter expert in all areas of finance and accounting.

* Supervise the completion of tax and compliance reporting requirements.

* Coordinate successful yearly external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records and report to Executive staff and Board on audit results

* Develop, implement and critically evaluate tools and systems to provide the most effective financial and operational information to users at all levels

* Oversee all reporting systems, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations, as well as knowledge of 501(c)(3) regulations.

* Monitor and manage a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism

* Oversee and participate in the development of the budgeting process; Ensure departmental yearly budgets are accurate, continually evaluating and reporting to stakeholders on progress against financial metrics.

* Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationship and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position

* Evaluate, negotiate and retain necessary insurance and risk management policies.

* Serve as an advisor from the financial perspective on any and all contracts into which the corporation may enter.

* Plan, develop, organize, implement and direct the company wide storage of all contract documents, ensuring efficient access and safeguarding of information

* Evaluate the finance division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal grown with emphasis on opportunities of individuals.

* Responsible for long range financial planning and forecasting for the Company as well as any subsidiaries that may exist.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Proficiency in analyzing business performance, developing financial plans and establishing financial controls

* Effective communication, organizational, and teamwork skills as displayed by the ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.

* Comprehensive knowledge of financial & accounting principles and GAAP

* Accounting Systems Proficiency: QuickBooks, Selection/implementation of cloud based, accounting system for mid-sized non-profit.

* Strong public speaking and written presentation skills

* Ability to evaluate existing structures and effect change where necessary

* Experience in dealing with boards of directors, shareholders, donors and other non-profit stakeholders

* Able to work in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to apply skills and critical thinking to contribute to the success of organizational priorities which may be outside of the normal accounting functions.

Required Education & Experience

* Bachelor Degree in accounting, finance or related field

* Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

* 10 plus years of finance & accounting experience, five of which must be at a management level. Preferably Big 4 experience before moving into a corporate controller/accounting role.
