Join Scripps as Supervisor, Clinic Operations RN - Medical Specialties where you will supervise RNs, LVNs, Respiratory therapists, and MAs in medical specialties including Pulmonology, Diabetes/Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Dermatology, Vascular/Vein clinic, Neurology, Nephrology. You will manage specialty clinic flow, organizational processes, and continuous learning and improvement of nursing staff. Coordinate staff to ensure effective nursing services are provided, and quality standards are met. Manage and maintain daily staffing and task assignments. Conduct regular staff meetings to maintain standardization and communication. Participate in regular meetings with Physicians and maintain open communication regarding staffing, process changes, and continuous improvement. • Coordinate and develop orientation schedules and training for on-boarding new employees. Participate in hiring of nursing staff employees. Maintain personnel operations including performance appraisals, time clock reporting and paid time off requests. Provide leadership and guidance to assigned staff. Identify learning opportunities, provide effective coaching and feedback, and develop corrective action plans as appropriate. Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing services with physicians, to identify opportunities for improving services and patient outcomes. Ensure availability and operation of necessary clinical equipment and supplies. Collaborate with nursing staff, interdisciplinary teams, executive staff, and other stakeholders in the development, implementation, and evaluation of program services.
You will manage daily staffing for assigned clinic operations. Ensure nursing practice reflects established standards of care and practice and a culture that promotes patient safety. Under the general direction of the Manager/Director, shares leadership responsibilities for the nursing staff, including managing daily staffing plans. Be responsible for managing and maintaining schedules for optimal efficiency. Work in partnership with Management and Physicians to ensure quality and efficiency in the management of patient care. Management and development of clinical staff. Contribute to operations management of assigned business unit(s). Participate in budget planning and management. and take proactive initiative in quality management.
This Exempt position is located in La Jolla.
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
- Associates degree plus two years applicable clinical experience.
- Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through.
- Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility for assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care. Graduate of an accredited program.
- Maintains current California RN license.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification and all competencies/certifications required for the highest level RN under their direction.
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
- BSN and/or certification in area of specialty preferred if applicable.
- Outpatient Clinic leadership experience preferred.
