This position is located at our Scripps Green Hospital and will be soon relocating to our Rancho Bernardo Center. The Answering Service Attendant, answers calls and routine inquiries, routing to intended destination. Appropriately responds to and documents emergency situations, per policy and guidelines. Acts as a part of a team, including training new employees. Pages physicians, security or employees as appropriate via radio, pagers, computer, or over-head PA system. Completes additional tasks such as sorting and mailing messages during downtime, delivering messages to physician offices and completing and distributing daily sheets. After physician office hours, answers and documents patient calls, contacting appropriate on-call physician as necessary. Maintains physician on call schedules at each work station, in on-call change book and on current monthly schedules.

This is a Full Time position, located at our Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, but moving to our 4S Ranch Business Services office in Rancho Bernardo Center by the beginning of next year. Flexible availability is required for this position and must be willing to cover Night and Day shifts including weekends.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Strong customer service skills, computer skills, and ability to work in fast pace environment using repetitive hand motion with the ability to multi-task.

Preferred Education/Experience/Certification:

  • Health care experience
  • Call Center/PBX experience.
