Opportunity

Under the direction of Staff Engineer within Wisconsin Faucet Operations, the

Engineering Intern/Co-op will employ a program of continuous manufacturing process

improvement designed to achieve division goals and objectives, and improve the

competitive position of the organization. Responsible for maintaining,

developing and improving manufacturing processes through the implementation of

new and/or improved manufacturing equipment and systems, and development of

manufacturing work cells. Emphasis is on operations management and deployment

of the Kohler Operating System (KOS), and on the structured use of robust

process improvement methods and Quality systems including Kaizen, 6-sigma, PPAP,

and SPC.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop,coordinate and implement process improvement programs

Develop,coordinate and control the Capital Plan within area of responsibility

Assist manufacturing supervision and production teams in troubleshooting production

problems and in resolution of quality problems related to equipment or process

capability

Assist in the review process of new product or process designs to ensure

manufacturability and production at lowest possible cost

Participate in and/or lead technical teams as required.

Includes product or process development teams, KOS/Kaizen teams, or special

assignment teams

Provide input to divisional management and participate in the development of business

unit strategic plans Participate in safety initiatives.

Skills/Requirements

Pro Engineer CAD experience preferred

Pursuing a 2 year Associates Degree or Undergraduate Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical preferred) or related technical discipline

Strong analytic and statistic skills

Excellent communication (both verbal and written), problem-solving, creative-thinking,

and collaboration skills Process control experience a plus
