Currently, we are seeking a Sr. Analyst, Property Accounting Sales & Use Tax (SUT) for our North American Global Business Services Center in Knoxville, Tennessee on the Property, Research, and Engineering Financial Services (PREFS) team.

The Sr. Analyst, Property Accounting SUT position provides a full range of sales tax accounting and reporting services with a focus on the timely and accurate delivery of federal, state, provincial, and local sales tax returns for our US and Canadian operations. While focused on sales and use tax, this position is part of a larger team responsible for a wide variety of accounting and reporting activities for Kimberly-Clark's North American businesses, and is an entry point for a career spanning accounting and reporting.

Principal Accountabilities:

* Prepare, review and submit the Corporation's federal, state, provincial and local sales tax returns to ensure accurate, timely compliance. This includes the review of self-assessed sales tax, determining which assessments are inappropriate, initiating correcting accounting entries, and preparing and submitting data to an outside service provider who prepares and files the returns..

* Analyze and reconcile sales tax receivable and liability accounts as assigned in a timely, accurate and efficient manner; recommend appropriate adjustments to those account and otherwise ensure assigned accounts are accurate

* Consistently identify, study, and implement efficiency improvements in the sales tax accounting and reporting process

* Gain the necessary knowledge to become knowledgeable in sales and use tax laws and regulations, identifying opportunities and risks in the sales and use tax automated accrual process, research opportunities and risk in order to determine accurate tax treatment, and incorporate necessary changes in automated accrual processes so as to provide a high level of assurance that the corporation pays tax accurately.

* Support federal, state, and provincial audits by managing data extracts requested by auditors, answering questions, analyzing findings, and implementing corrective action where necessary.


* Demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, provincial and local sales and use tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements

* Bachelor's degree, preferably in tax, accounting or finance

* Advanced Degree preferred, but not required

* Strong initiative, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, plus an orientation toward continuous improvement are required.

* Customer service oriented and a team player.

* Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills

* Strong planning and work management skills

* 5+ years business experience preferred

* Experience working within SAP or other ERP environment is beneficial.
