Lead Respiratory Therapist | Full Time | Day Shift

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner with advanced knowledge and training in the assessment of patients and advanced skills in the performance and clinical training of all respiratory therapy procedures including advanced critical respiratory care procedures and advanced diagnostic testing within the scope of the cardiopulmonary department. Ability to supervise front line staff.

Required Education:

Graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy and licensed as an RCP in the state of Texas.

Required Technical Skills:

Extensive training and experience in patient assessments and performing all respiratory therapeutic, critical care and diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gases, EKG’s, bronchoscopies and cardiac stress testing. Able to provide front line staff supervision, support and training.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Advanced training and extensive experience in patient assessments and in performing all respiratory therapeutic, critical care and advanced diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gases, EKG’s, bronchoscopies, cardiac stress testing and metabolic studies. Able to provide staff support, training

and supervision.

Required License/Registration/Certification:

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), Hold a current BCLS and NRP

Preferred License/Registration/Certification:

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), BCLS, NPS, CPFT, ACCS, and NRP

Required Experience:

At least 3 years experience as a lead therapist or shift supervisor in a Respiratory Therapy department. Experience in patient assessment and performance of clinical respiratory therapy procedures, critical care procedures and ventilator management, diagnostic testing including arterial blood gases and EKG’s on newborns through adults.

Preferred Experience:

At least 5 years experience as a supervisor in a Respiratory Therapy department. Experience as a clinical instructor for department respiratory therapists, respiratory therapy students and nursing and paramedic students. Extensive experience in patient assessment and performance of clinical respiratory therapy procedures, critical procedures and ventilator management and advanced diagnostic testing including arterial blood gases and EKG’s on newborns through adults along with bronchoscopies and pulmonary function testing.
