Operating Room Supervisor

* The Operating Room Supervisor provides direct nursing and administrative support for the operating room to ensure continuity of patient care. In partnership with clinical leadership, physicians and unit staff, the Operating Room Supervisor assures that the standards of nursing practice and the standards of performance are achieved. Utilizes knowledge of growth and development over the life span and demonstrates skill in application of this knowledge to the nursing care process. The ORS promotes and maintains the philosophy, values, standards of performance and goals of the organization and the department. Supports standards of practice and evidenced based care for all patients served by the department. Maintains appropriate clinical competence in supervised areas and has the ability to cover staff when needed, or to staff and take on call responsibilities. Develops staff education plans and coordinates appropriate education to meet the plans, including, but not limited to, drills and simulations. Works with leadership to establish departmental educational programs including annual competency evaluation and is responsible for over sight of these programs. Evaluates staffing levels, patient volumes and coordinates allocation of staffing resources. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited RN BSN nursing program preferred. Current NH RN license. Minimum 5 years in related area. Teaching experience and/or clinical leadership experience preferred.
