Shipping & Receiving Clerk

We have an immediate opening for someone with shipping, receiving, and inventory experience. This is a temporary position with the potential for regular employment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk works in the daily warehouse and shipping areas including: filling and shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel, filling work orders from production, packaging assemblies and receiving into finished goods, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and helping with cycle counts and reconciliation activities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform accurate receipt of deliveries, both physically and systemically

* Perform accurate processing of shipments in the most cost effective and timely manner

* Support purchasing in processing item returns to suppliers as needed

* Build crates as needed to ship finished units to customers per Marlen standards

* Perform daily cycle counts efficiently and accurately

* Support shop employees by fulfilling order requests in a timely manner

* Participate in maintaining an orderly and safe working environment

* Perform physical inventory tasks as assigned by management

* Continuously improve warehouse operations

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

One year of relevant warehouse experience.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid driver's license required.

Experience working in an ERP system

Understanding of overall materials flow and other functions linked to the warehouse activities and customer orders.

Knowledge of inventory management concepts.

Ability to prioritize, balance, and manage multiple efforts with strong results/goal orientation.

Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner information; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions.

Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages.

Organized and computer skilled (Office, Access, Word, Excel )

Thrives in a fast paced work environment; responds with a sense of urgency

PHYSICAL REQUUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, squat, and kneel. The employee is constantly required to walk and do repetitious turning and twisting with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally reach high and low and lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision. Work environment is manufacturing, room temperature can be somewhat hot or cold, and the noise level moderate to loud.
