JOB SUMMARY

The email marketing manager will be responsible for managing and executing a variety of campaigns for H&R Block's email channel. This includes the management of acquisition, service, and transactional email marketing across several business units. This is an opportunity to join a team that works closely with various cross-functional teams and/or vendors to execute and track campaigns while also providing consultation and expertise on how to leverage email strategically to drive business goals. Requires strong collaboration, communication and project management skills. The role entails setting up and executing email campaigns, generating email segments, tracking and reporting on performance and helping H&R Block business units to create engaging, revenue-generating email campaigns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop email communication strategy and manager campaigns end-to-end, including planning, set-up, testing, execution, reporting and optimization.

* Ensure flawless execution of campaigns. Oversee the review and approval of email campaigns, ensure accuracy of counts, proper segmentation, final QA and provide approval for deployment.

* Support the testing and development of new email capabilities including segmentation, personalization and creative improvements. Recommend tests to optimize email results.

* Lead and manage the email campaign planning process through creative and production. Facilitate meetings to plan and prioritize requests and adjust course as necessary. Proactively address and resolve issues, campaign timing conflicts and communicate decisions to key stakeholders

* Work cross functionally with other Marketers, Product, Legal and Database Managers. Lead cross-functional teams in the planning, development and execution of email marketing programs. Build a positive, proactive environment based on high volume of executions and excellent communication with team members and external resources.

* Analysis of current email marketing campaigns and making recommendations for improvement.

* Interpret data/reporting and use analysis to apply changes that increase efficiency of programs.

* monitor deliverability and automated data cleansing to maintain healthy database.

* Ensure all email campaigns comply with current email best practices, strategies and industry standards related to email.

* Support various business lines to create calendars and project timelines for email requests.

* Champion continuous advancement of email features and capabilities including targeting, personalization, template development in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or other related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

* Effective oral, written and interpersonal skills; Presentation skills necessary to communicate and persuade a wide range of audiences

* Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment

* Ability to respond with agility to changing market conditions and expedite processes when required

* Overall ability to think strategically and translate strategy into successful marketing programs

* Strong judgment, decision making and problem-solving skills

* Strong management skills; work with numerous partners of differing levels, flexing interaction styles including the ability to influence without direct authority

* Incredible attention to detail

* Team player with a can-do attitude

* Broad-based consumer marketing experience, including specific knowledge of advertising, media, database, direct response, promotion, merchandising, and research

* Knowledge of marketing principles, practices and techniques

* Budget management experience and demonstrate knowledge of financial implications from marketing programs and decisions.

Related/preferred experience type:

* MBA

* 5-7 years consumer marketing experience

* 2 or more years of email marketing experience with strategy and execution

* Familiarity with franchised, multi-unit retail services

* Financial services and/or seasonal business experience

Technical skills

* Understanding and previous use of a Windows-based computer system

* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

* Proven experience leading cross-functional teams from project start to completion and/or attainment of desired results
