JOB SUMMARY

In accordance with agency Mission, Vision, Values and Goals, the Program Monitor serves as support staff assisting residents with the achievement of treatment goals by insuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment within the program. This position includes conducting interaction with clients at any time outside of completing assigned tasks. The person holding this position is expected to present as a model Program Monitor for this program in fulfilling duties as well as showing self-initiative, professionalism, and positive leadership skills.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Provides direct support/monitoring and develops supportive therapeutic relationship with residents in order to meet treatment plan goals in accordance with the policies of the facility and as agreed upon by the individual resident.

Monitors and intervenes with clients at all times and ensures appropriate/acceptable behaviors are exhibited, physical and emotional security is assured.

Assists in the process of client admissions as outlined by supervisor, or lead mental health tech, and per the needs of the assigned program.

Monitors and documents daily chore completion as designated by lead mental health tech and/or shift assignment, ensuring cleanliness of facility.

Reports and documents observation accurately and completely in client chart in regards to client behavior or physical status.

Participates in and meets ethical standards regarding all treatment and documentation practices, Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement procedures, utilization management, and program/client outcomes.

Follows all agency policies and procedures including emergency and corporate compliance policies/procedures 100% of the time.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:

Employee must meet requirements regarding experience and training when delivering services to specific age groups and treatment populations. The following criteria apply:

Provider must maintain agency required trainings in seriously mental illness, dual diagnosis, or other related issues.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • A mental health professional as defined in 9 CSR 10-7.140(2)(QQ)
  • Education:

A high school diploma, equivalency or life experience equivalency.

  • Experience:

A minimum of one year experience in working with clients with severe mental illness.

  • Licensure, Certification, Registration: Medication Aide, CPR, First Aid, Non Violent Crisis Intervention

Qualifying experience must include some combination of the following:

  • Providing one-on-one or group services with a rehabilitation/habilitation and recovery/resiliency focus;
  • Any certified CNA work
  • Supporting efforts to find and maintain employment for individuals and/or to function appropriately in families, school and communities;
  • Assisted individuals to achieve the goals and objectives on their individualized treatment or person centered plans.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

HCBC reserves the right to follow the employment guidelines put forth by the state and each programs contractual agreements.

Driving may be required for this position. The successful candidate must have and remain in possession of a valid current driver's license, automobile insurance, and be insurable under the agency's motor vehicle insurance policy.

All candidates for employment must meet the established minimum qualifications for employment as identified by the applicable regulatory agencies.
