Interior Designer/Space Planner - Aviation & Federal

The Interior Designer/Space Planner will prepare designs, select furnishings, edits specifications, and develop conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial related facilities. This position creates, designs and implements interior design and space planning strategies from conception through completion of the project.

  • Prepares and modifies documents required for complete interior design of aviation and/or federal facilities.
  • Responsible for gathering required data for initial design concepts.
  • Preparation of interior concept renderings.
  • Responsible for research and development of furniture specification and completion of procurement documents.
  • Responsible for research and development of interior building finishes and documentation.
  • Responsible for maintaining conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.
  • Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from CIDA accredited university.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience Interior Design or similar field of study.
  • A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Revit, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production.
  • Detail oriented with ability to provide accurate documentation of project requirements.
