Armstrong Flooring, Inc. has a job opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer (internally called a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer) located in Kankakee, IL. Reporting to the Director of Maintenance & Reliability, this position support the maintenance and reliability systems for our tiled flooring product lines.

Location: 1401 N. Hobbie Avenue, Kankakee, IL 60901

Mechanical Engineer Salary: $85,000 - $95,000, based on experience (Gr. 11/12)

How you’ll contribute to the team:

• Optimize equipment up-time, reliability, and efficiency by analyzing equipment performance data and maintenance practices
• Recommend improved processes, programs, procedures and systems along with recommending enhancements and new approaches
• Develop maintenance scheduling methodology to increase proactive work
• Implement techniques to improve schedule compliance and management of work order backlog
• Utilize statistics to analyze preventative maintenance needs – MTBF, MTTF, MDT, MTTR, etc.
• Identify and implement technology to improve equipment reliability
• Create job planning and kitting processes
• Ensure storeroom inventory accuracy, maintain list of critical spares, and ensure proper stocking levels of spare parts
• Evaluate needs for new equipment to ensure reliability of equipment after startup
• Develop KPI for plant’s maintenance staffs
• Identify training and development for maintenance staffs
• Moderate travel expected, approximately 15%

Requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering PLUS 3+ years’ experience in Maintenance & Reliability
  OR 10+ years' experience in Maintenance & Reliability
• Proven track record of working in manufacturing environments
• Previous experience with implementing new systems
