Commercial Portfolio Manager

This position's responsibilities include cultivating the existing Commercial Loan Portfolio for market expansion, routine portfolio maintenance, analyzing complex credits with a view to making sound credit decisions, identifying credit risks, and preparing loans for presentation to the loan committee. In the management of the Divisions Commercial Loan Portfolio, the manager must display the ability to make independent judgments and decisions with regard to maintaining the credit quality of the portfolio. In the Division, this position focuses on building customer relationships and expanding existing customer relationships through excellent customer service and cross selling activities.

Primary Accountabilities

* Manages a portfolio of commercial clients and loans.

* Makes regular business development calls (independently or in conjunction with the Commercial Relationship Manager) to solicit new business or improve services to existing clients.

* Generates new business through cross-selling activities with existing commercial client base.

* Manages the credit process, identifies risks and mitigates on new and renewed loans.

* Provides customer service to existing commercial customers, including research or referrals to other Departments of the Bank where applicable and corresponding follow up.

* Analyzes and recommends complex credits.

* Attends and presents approval requests at loan committee meetings.

* Oversees the routine maintenance and management of the subject portfolio, including the tickler system, overdrafts, financial reporting and loan reviews.

* Effectively presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers

* Ability to negotiate with Clients on behalf of the Bank

* Represents the bank in civic and related activities with business associations, customers, and regulatory agencies. Is aware and well versed in the Credit Policy and Procedures.

Position Qualifications

Education:

* Bachelor Degree Finance, Business, Accounting

* 3-6 years related experience

* Proficiency in computer applications

* Previous experience in a credit analyst or commercial portfolio manager role would be strongly preferred.
