Nemours is seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) FULL-TIME to join our Pediatric Orthopedics department in Jacksonville, Florida.

This position is responsible for providing appropriate support for the surgeons within his/her scope of practice and credentials as set forth by Nemours children's Specialty Care, Baptist health and the state of Florida. The PA or NP is considered an essential part of the surgical team and is relied upon to assist in providing the highest quality of care to infants, children and adolescents. Primary responsibilities include daily rounding on patients, first assisting in the operating room, answering calls from the general patient wards and assisting with inpatient consults.

Job Duties

* Writes progress notes and appropriate orders, and discusses case with attending. Admits and discharges patients as directed.

* Assists in the Operating Room primarily as first assistant as requested by the surgeon. Assist the surgeon in completing preoperative and postoperative orders, prescriptions and documentation.

* Conducts daily PA/NP clinics as determined by the division head primarily for postop follow-ups and established patients. As necessary will see new patients with minor pediatric Orthopedic problems.

* Accurately records patient information in the electronic medical record, communicating with other providers in the community to promote continuity of care.

* Deliver family-centered, evidence based care in non-judgmental and nondiscriminatory manner.

* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support daily management systems/processes.

* Must have the ability to work well with others. Good Communication skills are required.

* Perform other duties as requested.

Job Requirements

* Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant program required.

* Minimum of 1 year experience preferred.

* Active Florida license.
