Inside Sales/Application Engineer

The Inside Sales/Application Engineerposition works within the Sales Support Group (SSG) at CE Power where they are responsiblefor providing sales support for our Sales Representatives/Account Managers. Asa member of the Sales Support Group, the Inside Sales/Application Engineer isresponsible for working directly with members of sales, engineering, andoperations to provide technical and commercial sales support including identifyingand qualifying leads, job costing/estimating, proposal generation, andpost-order sales support.

Sales and Marketing —Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and sellingproducts or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, productdemonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

Customer Satisfaction: Builds productiverelationships with customers in order to build customer loyalty and businesssuccess; identifies or anticipates customer needs. Keeps commitments tocustomers and regularly sets standards that exceed their expectations.Encourages and uses customer feedback to improve services.

Planning & Scheduling: Developseffective systems, processes, and procedures in order to achieve sellingobjectives. Looks at reporting relationships and distribution ofresponsibilities and makes changes as necessary; analyzes work flow and tasksperformed to eliminate bottlenecks, duplication, and improve efficiency. Issensitive to resource and time constraints; gives proper attention to bothday-today activities and longer range plans.

Collaboration: Workseffectively with others in order to achieve meaningful results and maintainspositive working relationships. Abilityto analyze, solve problems, and develop solutions both independently andcollaboratively.


* Supports sales ofcompany products and services with regard to development, execution, andadministration of quotes and proposals.

* Ability to read andinterpret electrical specifications and drawings.

* Reviewsspecifications/job requirements and works with sales, engineering, andoperations to determine the best solution and obtain proper material and laborestimates and prepare cost estimates accordingly.

* Utilizes CRM tool(Sugar), to manage all client and quote-related activity and assigned tasks forsupporting proposal process.

* Assists in thedevelopment of technical collateral, schedules, and other submittals as needed.

* Develops and maintainsa knowledge base library of reference materials for use in preparing proposals,presentations, and technical collateral.

* Participate in weeklyquote meetings.

* Provide sales andtechnical support to clients and other CE Power entities.

* Assist sales whenneeded on pre-bid job walks to ascertain job details necessary for quotedevelopment and job execution.

* Perform function oforder clarification/verification during order hand-off process to Operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee be required to performkeying functions, grasp and pinch to write. The employee will frequently (34-66% of the workday) be required to sit,walk and stand. Occasionally (6-33% ofthe workday), the employee will be required to bend, twist/turn, reach out,lift/carry and push and pull. Theemployee infrequently (2-5% of the workday) will be required to squat/kneel andclimb. The employee is required toinfrequently (2-5% of the workday) lift and carry up to 21-50 pounds and willfrequently (34-66% of the workday) be required to lift and carry 11 to 20pounds.

Whileperforming the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to variousjob site environments. The flooring ismostly concrete, tile or wood. Thetemperatures at the customer locations can vary between 20-100 degrees. The use of safety equipment can includesafety shoes and glasses, hard hat and other job.


* Experience: Must have 2-5 years of sales or sales supportexperience.

* ReasoningDevelopment: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oralform; deal with problems involving several concrete variables.

* Language Development: Ability toread company manuals and reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak withpoise and confidence, using correct English. Properly construct writtenproposals.

* Technical Competency: Abilityto use CRM (Sugar), SharePoint, Outlook, Excel, and Word proficiently. Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications, schematics,and wiring diagrams. Must have the ability to do advanced mathematicalcalculations.

* Licensuresand Certifications: None

* Education: A Bachelor's Degree in ElectricalEngineering or Engineering Vertical Degree from an accredited institutionpreferred.
