An Application Developer III for SPM (Service Parts Management) designs, develops, and implements applications to support business requirements for planning and forecasting. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through analysis, debugging, research, and investigation. Prepares program specifications and diagrams, develops coding logic flowcharts. Prepares functional and technical specifications for solutions, enhancements and system implementations. Recommends solutions and provides technical knowledge and expertise of specific software and languages.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Carries out complicated mainstream application development and provides a support resource

* Designs complex parts of a system

* Undertakes programming, analysis, and testing tasks, working within a team

* Participates in applications development by gathering information, performing assessments and analysis, and eliciting the details of user requirements in discussion with users

* Supports application software by fixing problems and developing enhancements

* Has direct control over analyst programmers from time to time, but the programmers may formally report into someone else

* Delegates some systems building tasks to less experienced colleagues where necessary

* Leads special projects, initiatives and other duties as assigned

* Knows and applies the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures

* Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services

* Very knowledgeable of the job and/or industry

* Uses judgment in interpreting and adapting company policies, regulations, precedents and work directions

* Researches and identifies solutions to situations where guidelines cannot be applied

* Includes responsibility for interpreting data, planning work and/or refining methods/techniques to be used

* Assesses unusual circumstances, varied techniques and incomplete or conflicting data

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelors degree in related field. Masters preferred.

* 4 years of related experience

* Must have excellent working knowledge in Java technologies

* Must have excellent working knowledge in Oracle DB, PL/SQL and SQL

* PTC's SPM product functional and technical knowledge is a must

* SAP experience preferred but not required
