Are you ready for your dream writing job? As the Director of Copy the ideal candidate will support the development and execution of all of Too Faced global copy needs including campaign copy development, video scripts, copy needs, and visual merchandising copy. The Director of Copy will work with the Chief Creative Officer and Vice President Global Marketing on product packaging copy and product naming. This position will ensure there is one consistent brand voice across all 360 consumer touch points. This position reports to the Vice President, Global Marketing.

  • Be a key player in the evolution of our brand's voice, striving to balance our fun, unique voice with serious product benefits
  • Develop tone of voice and style rules for brand – brand copy guidelines, tone of voice guidelines
  • Manage an additional copywriter with direct accountability of workload distribution
  • Conduct research and attend meetings to gain an in-depth understanding of benefit-driven products and stories behind their development
  • Work with legal to gain approvals on product copy
  • Establish and implement process for copy writing to ensure deadlines are met and consistency is achieved across all outlets
  • Develop seasonal concepts and editorial stories, collaborating with other marketing, creative and founders
  • Create and edit compelling, intelligent copy that expresses the Brand voice across multiple business channels, including product packaging, fixture, and web
  • Video production work – scripts, conception, development in collaboration with creative, marketing and Chief Creative Officer
  • Pivot easily from a macro editorial point of view to a micro understanding of product detail
  • Collaborate with Chief Creative Officer and marketing team to develop insightful points of view around Too Faced products and brand
  • Write, edit and conceive editorial elements for website, blog and emails, including subject lines, headlines, and body copy
  • Strategic POV on product positioning and campaign angles
  • Balance efficiency with quality creative output in a fast-paced environment
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management


  • BA in journalism, English or related field
  • At least 5 years' experience copywriting and developing concepts
  • Experience writing beauty-related copy required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Proven ability to edit copy – refining, reframing, and polishing as required
  • Knowledge of AP Style Guide preferred
  • Heightened ability to self-direct and prioritize in terms of daily creative workflow; a flexible, solution-oriented attitude
  • Knowledge of overarching trends in the beauty marketplace, as well as an ability to synthesize and express their influences in copy
  • Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience writing video scripts, product box copy and e-mail marketing a plus
