This Process Development Laboratory Technician will focus on process development and process characterization for producing stem cells at pilot and bioreactor scale, and downstream processing. Responsible to execute protocols to support programs within the IUSM GMP cell manufacturing and transduction group relating to preparation of human materials for pre-clinical and clinical use. Responsible for cell processing, process scale-up/scale-down, bioreactor process parameters, cryopreservation, packaging and biobanking. Under minimal supervision, will be expected to assist the PI in designing and performing experiments, organize and carefully document results, analyze and interoperate results, and communicate findings.

REQUIRED: BS or BA in biology, engineering or related discipline, plus 1 year or laboratory experience.

•Experience in aseptic and/or cell-culture operations.
•Experience with cell-based assays (ELISA, FACS, immunofluorescence).
•Experience with bioreactor operations and process scale-up.
•Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
•Strong interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills, as well as demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
•Experience in the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
•Flexibility in working schedule to accommodate weekend or off-hours work.

Preferred Qualifications

MS knowledge.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Frequently moving. Remain in a stationary position for moderate amounts of time. Must be able to review of data/documents and observation of laboratory.
