HourlyJob CenterAssistantIndianapolis Public LibraryThis is a posting for anHourlyJob Center Assistantto workat variousbranch locationsin the Library'sJob Center computer labs.Under limited supervision, the Hourly Job Center Assistant works with Indianapolis Public Librarypatrons to assist with job searching, cover letter and resume writing, and other computer and workforce related activities.The Library currently hosts job centers at the following locations: Central Library, BrightwoodBranch, College Avenue Branch, Eagle Branch, E. 38th Street Branch, Garfield Park Branch, Pike Branch, Southport Branch, and the Warren Branch.You may select which branch you prefer to work in, but selected candidate may be asked to work in multiple locations.This posting does not guarantee an opening in any of the above named locations. Essential Functions>Setting up and tearing down laptops and other equipment related to the Job Center computer labs>Assisting patrons with workforce-related projects, which may involve providing help to patrons with the basics in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, the use of the internet in relation to navigating job search engines and the Indiana Department of Workforce Development (DWD) website>Lab Assistants will also be responsible for monitoring public use of the computer lab and performing a variety of clerical and technical tasks in support of this service.Minimum Qualifications>High school diploma or equivalent>Moderate ability level with Microsoft Office 2010 products>Ability to familiarize self with the DWD website>Ability to travel between the9 Job Center library locations>Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours>Professional and courteous demeanor>Customer Service Oriented approach to patronsPreferred Qualifications>Bilingual abilities a plusPhysical RequirementsThis job requires frequent standingBenefitsThis is a grant funded position and is not benefits eligible.Starting pay is $10.20 per hour. The work schedule will vary from week to week, but will include day,evening, and weekend hours.
