Director of Women's Basketball and Creative Services Campus IUPUI - Indianapolis Department ATHLETICS (IN-ATHL-IUINA)

This position is responsible for the entire operations aspect of the women’s basketball program including (but not limited to) team and staff travel; recruiting travel; compliance activities; budget development and management; marketing and promotions; facilities scheduling; community outreach; team managers, and other temporary staff; equipment inventory; and alumni relations and communication.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Develop and manage the annual budget; manage team travel, including itineraries, rooming lists, meal arrangements, practice times, authorizations, reimbursements, and air and bus transportation. Individual will travel with team to all home and away practices and competitions.

•Manage all community outreach activities including community service and engagement by team members and coaching staff. Seek out, investigate and develop team opportunities. Manage external relations for the program.

•Serve as chief liaison to student athlete academics counselors, equipment manager, athletic training, sport dietitian, and sport performance consultants to advance player development to the highest possible level both in an out of the classroom.

•Work directly with the compliance staff on rules education, required compliance documentation, rules interpretations and other compliance issues or requirements related to the program. Comply fully with all NCAA, conference, and university rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.



REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, plus 1-2 years of administrative experience in an intercollegiate program; experience with sport operations and/or management. Must have a Valid Driver’s License.

The successful candidate should possess knowledge of NCAA rules; strong attention to detail, highly-developed organizational skills, ability to effectively communicate with a variety of constituents (e.g., coaches, administrators, student-athletes, faculty, donors, season ticket holders), demonstrated tendency to be solution-oriented, and highly self-motivated are preferred skills and abilities.


Preferred Qualifications

Creativity, ability to create content for both social media and team use, experience with Photoshop, iMovie, and other creative systems, etc.


Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Incumbent will be required to work long and, often irregular hours, and occasionally will be in a stationary position for long periods of time.
