Loss Mitigation Workout Specialist

Work Days and Expected Hours:

Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

(Additional hours as needed to carry out the objectives of the department)

Function: Assists in minimizing the bank's loan losses by working with customers to identify hardships and loss mitigation options. Serves as a first point of contact for delinquent borrowers. Makes outbound calls concerning collection of delinquent loans and processing bankruptcy proceedings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Works with customer to identify loss mitigation opportunities for long term resolution to delinquent loan relationships.

2. Calls customers on delinquent loan payments to determine repayment

3. Prepares written correspondence and related documents regarding delinquent loan payments.

4. Review delinquencies; discuss repayment plans and options with customers in detail

5. Obtain credit reports, appraisals, inspections, surveys and title work. Identify situations where foreclosure is recommended

6. Interfaces with attorneys and magistrates as well as other financial institutions as required.

7. May prepare and file bankruptcy documentation as required.

8. Requires S.A.F.E. Act certification. Proof of registration with the registry and verification of a unique identifier as established under the guidelines of the S.A.F.E. Act is required upon hire and/or must be obtained prior to performing the duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator, as defined by the Act. This registration must be maintained annually in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act

9. Enter loan modification requests into underwriting platform

10. Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees. Demonstrates the ability to work independently. Works as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn the organization.

11. Be cognizant of UDAAP and any other regulations during contact with customers.

12. Performs additional duties as required.

Physical Demands:

90% of the day is spent operating a keypad device. 5% of the day is spent operating electronic equipment and 5% of the day is spent operating office equipment. The primary parts of the body involved in performing these tasks are fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, and elbows. Bending and twisting occurs five times per minute at a moderate speed. Sitting is required 97% of the day. Use of manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 40% of the business day. Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18"-20" for computer work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
