The Position

Mental Health Counselors provide counseling, case management, direct clinical services, community and home based services, and behavioral and human services to mentally ill, developmentally disabled and/or emotionally disturbed clients in an outpatient, residential, community or similar setting.

Licensure in Nevada as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist OR as registered intern as a Clinical Social Worker, Clinical Professional Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist or Psychological Assistant as issued by the appropriate licensing board is required within three months of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

This recruitment is for several clinicians in Early Childhood Mental Health Services, Children's Clinical Services and the Child and Adolescent Mobile Crisis Response Team in Las Vegas. Early Childhood Mental Health Services provides clinical and case management services to children ages birth to age 8 and their families with mental health and/or behavioral health issues. Early Childhood also has a training and consultation position available for the Child Care Consultation program. This position provides training, consultation and technical assistance to youth, families and child care programs in Las Vegas. Children's Clinical Services provides clinical and case management services to children ages 6 to 18 and their families with mental health and/or behavioral health issues. The Mobile Crisis Response Team triages calls from community, responds in teams to children and adolescents in acute psychiatric and behavioral crisis in the community. Responses can take place in emergency departments, schools, home and other community settings. Teams can remain in place for up to 30 days to provide intensive clinical and case management services to these youth and families. This position will be the clinical lead on the response and stabilization team. Early Childhood Mental Health Services/ Children's Clinical Services provides services in home and in office, Monday through Friday. The mobile crisis team will provide services during daytime, evening and weekend hours across a variety of shifts. This recruitment is for all of the shifts that Early Childhood Mental Health Services, Children's Clinical Services and the Mobile Crisis Response Team covers.

To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychology, social work or closely related academic field and two years of post-master's degree professional mental health counseling experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and clinical experience at or above a master's degree and experience as described above. Special Requirements Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required. A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant. Moderate travel is required. Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment. Additional Position Experience This position requires experience working with youth under the age of 18 and their families.
