PeopleTec is currently seeking a Junior Engineer to support our Huntsville, AL location.

PeopleTec is seeking an entry-level candidate for this position with growth potential. Candidate will work with a small, dynamic and multi-disciplined team of scientists, engineers and software developers to develop fast-running, physics-based models and algorithms for predicting damage, response, debris and related phenomenology of threat systems due to impact from defensive weapons. The modeling regime is broad and includes low velocity and very high velocity, endo and exoatmospheric environments, and energetic and non-energetic payloads. Candidate will perform data reduction and analysis from experiments and test events, develop models/algorithms for the observed phenemonology, verify/validate model performance, translate the model/algorithm into executable code, and work with the software engineers to implement/integrate into the code baseline. This is a fast-paced environment that permits cross-training with other programs, allowing for flexibility in tasking.

Required Skills/Experience:

* 0-2 years of experience in an engineering field, preferably aerospace or mechanical

* Understanding / application of programming skills such as Fortran, C++, Python or similar language

* Microsoft Office skills are required (including good Excel skills)

* Candidate must have good communication skills (both written and oral)

* Travel: 0-5%

* Must be a U.S. Citizen

* An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

A completed Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution is required; Master's Degree is preferred.

Desired Skills:

* CAD (Solidworks, Creo, BRLCAD or similar) is desired

* Finite element or finite difference analysis codes is desired

* Background in statistics and/or statistical modeling is desired
