The Role: Strategic Sourcing and Supply Specialist II

Position Summary

The Strategic Sourcing and Supply Specialist position will be part of the North America Strategic Sourcing Team based in Houston. This position will be responsible for procurement activities performed via procurement systems including eProcurement tool Coupa. The position assists Category Lead for strategic sourcing and enforcement of the Procurement policies and process including preparation for RFP bid documents, Supplier research and Project coordination. In addition, the position will gather and perform data analysis and support procurement performance metrics tracking and reporting.

Essential Job Functions

Procurement & Sourcing Responsibilities:

* Validate requisitions are approved by the appropriate individuals based on Company's delegation of authority (DOA).

* Issue purchase orders using procurement system (such as Coupa) according to North American Supply Chain Policies and Buy-Supply process to obtain products/services needed by the business.

* Manage RFQ and supplier negotiations for low value purchases

* Support Category Lead in sourcing engagement, supplier research, preparation of RFP documents, data analysis of supplier proposals and coordination of project management if needed.

* Possess excellent research skills and analytics to conduct data analysis studies of the company's total spend and savings potential per chosen categories such as HVAC, Lighting, Labor, Renewable commodities and Electricity Generation related commodities and services.

* File procurement contracts using the contracts database and relying on the contracts management skills learned from the records custodian in order to maintain an accurate inventory of the company's procurement contracts.

Reporting/Documentation:

* Develop simple templates to facilitate purchasing activities and assist with Power Point presentation in support of the Category Lead.

* Prepares reports showing number of contracts, purchase orders, dollar value of purchase orders; Uses Procurement Spend Management Savings Tracker databases to research and update Category Lead

* Pulls reports from ERP pertaining to specific goods or services

* Keeps Procurement templates and checklists current and distributes them to Site Administrators

* Support Procurement Performance Reporting

* Carries out other duties as assigned.

Requirements

* Excellent analytical skill and problem-solving skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively to stakeholders

* Advanced skill in Excel, Access and Power Pivots

* Familiar with ERP systems such as familiar with Maximo, SAP, JDE and eProcurement tool such as Coupa or Ariba

* Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

* Ability to meet highest attendance requirements

* Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.

* Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy.

* Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc.

* Could involve some lifting.

Education/Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain required

* 3-5 years of procurement/sourcing experience required
