The Research Assistant II assists principal investigator with scientific research project. Assists in the design and initiation of research experiments. Assists in the designing, developing or adapting equipment used in experiments or research to obtain desired results. Works with the research team to determine specific goals or objectives to be obtained, evaluates research data and develops and revises techniques or approaches to work problems. Assists with training and research work activity for assigned laboratory and research personnel. Assists the supervisor with the use of laboratory equipment and implements safety procedures.
Performs technical laboratory duties in accordance with a predetermined course of action.

Assist in the Planning, organizing, coordinating, and participates in scientific research projects. Works with the research team to review the quality of the outcome reporting and population of databases. Assists the research team in coordinating, evaluating and monitoring clinical trials and research protocols.
Work independently with some supervision on the operation of related laboratory equipment. Train research personnel & junior staff members in use of instrumentation.
Experiments and Equipment maintenance
Prepares and conducts experiments and/or as requested by the PI or their designee.
- Obtaining peripheral blood, bone marrow and spleen samples from animal models and processing of same for flow cytometric and in vitro assays.

Works with research team in the evaluating research data, and revises techniques or approaches to work problems. Utilizes institutional and departmental databases to perform data retrieval for analysis. Works with the research team in designing retrieval templates for standard queries. Apply bio-statistical methods in analyzing clinical data such as pretreatment characteristics, response to treatment, toxicities, and mortality, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Required: Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
Required: Two years experience in scientific or experimental research work. No experience required with preferred degree.
