Project Controls Manager

Job Overview:

The Project Controls Manager worksclosely with the Project Manager/Director to provide project status andforecasts through thorough analysis and a solid understanding of the contractrequirements of each assigned project.

KeyResponsibilities/Accountabilities:

* Ensure that the cost and schedule impact of individual internaland external changes and the cumulative impact of all changes are evaluatedthrough a robust change management system.

* Break down all costs from the "as-sold" bid cost summary into WBSline items and charts of accounts which are distributed and explained to budgetmanagers.

* Participate in critical procurement and subcontract evaluationsand negotiations to confirm cost, cash flow, warranties/guarantees and schedulerequirements are adequately addressed.

* Track and control budgets and cash flow projections in a timelymanner.

* Liaise with internal and external contacts including criticalvendors, subcontractors, project management, procurement and other departmentsto update and maintain a schedule that encompasses an accurate plan, forecast,and actual dates for various milestones.

* Proactively manage the schedule; review and use late reports andlook ahead reports to achieve same; progress the schedule on an ongoing basisand analyze impact.

* Set up a progressmeasurement mechanism which is reflective of physical progress made.

* Measure progress ona weekly basis for all aspects of the project.

* Distribute progressreports and curves internally and externally.

* Review of Risk and Opportunity register on anongoing basis

* Utilize the earned value concept to ensureaccurate forecasts

* Keep logs of correspondences between McDermott,clients, and vendors.

* Complete gap analysis of risks is done for majorprocurement and subcontract items.

* Other duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements:

* Minimum 10 years' project controls experience

* Experience managing project controls duties on large, complex construction projects

* Experience working with large international oil companies in domestic and international locations.

* Practical ability to utilize critical project management concepts (e.g. EVM, project planning, risk analysis, configuration management).

* Proficient in Microsoft Office

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Construction Management

* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

* Working knowledge of P6

Other Details:

Domestic travel required at aminimum of 25% of the time.
