Mechanical Assembly Lead

Job Purpose:

Sanmina Houston is looking for Mechanical Assembler Lead with experience in the Oil and Gas Industry. Directs

employees performing routine and complex operations to ensure conformance to schedules and quality requirements.

Nature of Duties:

* Supervises, and participates in, the visual and physical production of all products built in the department.

* Coordinate/delegate production work-orders according to customer purchase order due dates. (This includes all aspects of interfacing with necessary personnel in all departments (teamwork) to ensure material and labor is completed in time for testing and shipping).

* Keep Management informed of any critical issues, especially those that may affect on time deliveries.

* Monitor and document any abnormal issues with Production work orders. This includes labor and material issues. This is necessary to justify charges above standard costs.

* Monitor/adjust weekly labor hours of department personnel according to customer deliveries.

* Responsible for the quality of all products assembled in the department.

* Responsible for all products manufactured to correct procedures within the department.

* Responsible for meeting standard labor hours for all products in the department.

* Attend daily/weekly production meetings with Management including specialty meetings involving the department.

* Monitor employee start time, breaks, and lunches to reduce lost time labor.

* Approve or deny department personnel vacation and sick time requests. Submit to Accounting.

* Collect, and submit Daily time sheets to Management.

* Approve material requisitions for the department personnel.

* Maintain knowledge of and participates in development of skill levels of all department personnel.

* Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma with four years experience in related field

* Knowledge of purchasing, expediting, MRP/ESP systems, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, manufacturing safety practices.

* Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

* Solid analytical skills

* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

* Self-motivated

* Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.

* Ability to work well with others
