Key Account Manager (Oil & Gas - Upstream / Midstream)

ABB Inc., is looking to hire a Key Account Manager (Oil & Gas - Upstream / Midstream), to aggressively and profitably grow ABB's instrumentation and flow measurement market share in Upstream Oil & Gas by managing key accounts in Houston, TX.


Senior professionals ( > 5 years of work experience)


The Key Account Manager (Oil & Gas) will focus on value messaging around applications for certain pre-defined products including flow computers/RTU's, analyzers, instrumentation and flow meters as well as training of Channel product drivers to move our core competence closer to customers

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Responsible to meet / exceed the specific product sales targets.

* Product Sales Driver will drive channel sales in of all specific product technologies to our focused markets.

* Main task is to develop strong relationships with key customers involving ABB products and solutions in the Houston area.

* Develop and own your own 30, 60, 90 business plans and align with the mutual action planning between the industry Sales Managers and our Channel Partners.

* Collaborate with Industry Sales Managers and other Regional Sales Specialists to support trade shows and customer events.

* Participate in monthly cadence calls and quarterly reviews to report and deliver on 30, 60, 90 Industry business plan's developmental efforts, opportunities and results.

* Deliver "Voice of Customer" feedback to the PMU's and Product Management team to ensure our products and solutions consistently have the best value proposition in the market.

* Collaborate with Industry sales managers to support channel partner e-commerce and web based marketing efforts.

* Act as a bridge between the factories and the industry and channel sales teams

* Familiarize yourself with your adjacent team member's product offerings (i.e. analytical, flow, level) enough to be able to promote benefits and hand off to the right person or channel partner. Achieve this familiarity through taking applicable ABB e-learning courses from our extensive library.

* Assist Industry Managers in providing input for quarterly OCS and budgeting process

* Support the LBU FES team core values. Safety & Integrity, Teamwork, Passion, Initiative, Resilience, Customer Empathy.

* Overnight travel is estimated to be up to 70-100 nights per year. Overnight travel includes travel to regions, factories, channel partner locations, customer locations, trade shows, sales meetings and industry conferences.



* High School Diploma or GED and 12 years' experience in the oil and gas industry


* Associates' degree and 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry


* Bachelors' degree and 8 years' experience in the oil and gas industry

* Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

Alternatively, this position may be hired at a senior-level meeting the following qualifications

* High School Diploma or GED and 16 years' experience in the oil and gas industry


* Associates' degree and 14 years' experience in the oil and gas industry


* Bachelors' degree and 12 years' experience in the oil and gas industry


* Bachelor's Degree in technology with combined 8+ years' experience in instrumentation sales through direct and or indirect channel partners or distribution.

* Leverage your existing relationships in the industry to bring new selling opportunities to ABB

* Ability to develop and implement structured sales processes and strategies that improve efficiency and lead to winning

* Proven ability to develop relationships at all levels in ABB, our channel partners and our end users (from field personnel to corner office).

* Solid understanding of instrumentation and level technology and markets.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
