JV Project Accountant

Purpose

To support the GWIS JV Finance functions of Project and General

Ledger Accounting

PROJECT INITIATION Accountable for the financial implications of the set up and

maintenance of projects in the business system in

accordance with accounting policies, pricing schedules,

customer details, payment plans, invoicing calendars, and

multicurrency billing.

BILLING & CASH MANAGEMENT

Produce customer invoices according to the invoicing plan,

ensuring they are received, approved, and actioned. Reviews WIP/AR reports weekly with JV Finance Manager

and assist in the development of required actions to ensure

timely billing and cash collections. Provides regular invoice status updates to Finance Manager.

Provide input into the JV cash forecast to ensure accuracy

and appropriate challenge to expedite cash collection. Attest / review project transaction documents and accounts

for accuracy and completeness, including sub-charges, data

sheets, time reports, expenses, subcontractor invoices, etc. Ensures billings do not exceed approved budget limits and

works with Project Controls to resolve issues. Drives timely recording of 3rd party invoices.

REPORTING/ANALYSIS

Ensure processes in place to enable accurate weekly

revenue recognition Weekly review and reconciliation of JV intercompany

processes, ensuring all items have transacted according to

the JV contract and actioning those which haven't. Produces and analyses trend and variance reports as

needed. Gathers project accruals and provision information as

needed in line with IFRS. Draft project journals as required

for Finance Manager to review. Function as a business partner to Project Controls to ensure

accuracy in project processes as they relate to the finance

function. Support the budget/forecast process ensuring accurate

Hyperion set-up, input of data and analysis as required. Support ad-hoc finance projects as part of the continued

growth and success of the Joint Venture structure.

GENERAL LEDGER SUPPORT

Prepare monthly GL reconciliations of assigned TB accounts,

identifying all reconciling items and actioning with Finance

Manager as appropriate.

Prepare General Ledger journals as required.

Upload monthly reconciliations to Blackline with all required

supporting documentation.

JV BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

Support JV Finance Manager in recording of JV partner data

as required, reviewing the data for accuracy and compliance

to the JV Agreement. Participate in processes that enable the JV to effectively

manage its costs.

Knowledge / Experience / Competencies Required

Job Specific Knowledge:

Technical and analytical accounting skills

Understanding of GAAP and IFRS

Maintains the highest professional ethics and standards

Industry Specific Experience:

Engineering, construction, and procurement project knowledge

Consulting projects/processes knowledge a plus

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Intermediate

Diploma in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years experience in a project accounting

function, or;

Equivalent preferred with 4 years related experience; may vary based on management

discretion

IT Skills:Familiar with ERP and BI environments, specifically Oracle and Hyperion a plus

Advanced Excel skills
