DESCRIPTION:

Based in Houston, TX, the Corporate Controller will manage the Corporate Accounting team to ensure a timely and accurate monthly close process in accordance with US GAAP. The Corporate Controller will work directly with the Director of Accounting, continuously striving to improve processes and controls and ensure consistent excellence. The Corporate Controller will work cross-functionally to ensure strong team-work between the Accounting and other departments. This position will also work with the Manager of Financial Reporting to ensure accurate consolidation accounting and accounting for highly technical transactions, including acquisitions. This position will be a key contributor in establishing and documenting Accounting policies and procedures, as well as ensuring satisfactory design and execution of internal controls for the global organization.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manage the Corporate Accounting Team (5 total personnel) in continuous pursuit of process improvements

* Ensure monthly accounting books are closed for all Corporate Department

* Ensure accurate and timely facilitation of the A/P function for Corporate and US Operations

* Review close documents and reports, including B/S Account Reconciliations, ensuring quality, accuracy and compliance with US GAAP

* Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) control are accurately completed and appropriately documented

* Provide Senior Management with all analytics required to manage and grow the business

* Work directly with the Director of Accounting and Corporate Department Heads to facilitate our annual budget process and our monthly forecasting processes

* Prepare variance analysis and reports for Corporate departments

* Establish Accounting policies and procedures to improve accuracy and performance of the global Accounting team

* Develop processes around inter-company transactions and corporate allocations

* Manage ad hoc projects to (i) improve accuracy and efficiency of the Accounting department (ii) integrate financial systems (iii) integrate acquired business or (iv) redesign policies and procedures for changes in the Company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; Master's degree a plus

* CPA License is a plus

Experience:

* Minimum eight (8) years hands-on experience in accounting functions; Big 4 experience is a plus

* Close the books and management experience

* Experience working cross-functionally including working directly with Operations, Sales and Executive Management

* Experience in a Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) control environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Applications; Excel, Word and PowerPoint a MUST HAVE

* Hands-on knowledge of financial and accounting software

* Great interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to manage time in coordination with FA's located around this globe

* Ability to cross-train in other Accounting/Finance roles in order to ensure proper segregation of duties and maintain SOX compliance

* Candidate should be eager to learn and develop their management skills with desire to over-perform and elevate their career path

* Candidate should feel comfortable working in a fast-paced, continuously growing and evolving environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work.

Description: This position requires a moderate amount of stamina with the ability to perform the above essential job functions and within timetables. Some overtime work will be required.

Lifting: The employee must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally for short durations.

Carrying: The employee must be able to carry up to 15 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally for short distances.

Pushing/Pulling: The employee must be able to push/pull up to 15 lbs. frequently and up to 40 lbs. occasionally usually from desk level to floor or floor to desk level.

Other Physical Requirements: Upper extremity usage, motor coordination, range of motion, vision, hearing and balance should be in a range to safely preclude the harm or injury to the employee in this position or the harm or injury to other employees.

Environmental Considerations: The employee will alternate work between a climate controlled building and an outdoor work site; and may be exposed to dust, fumes or gases and to changes of weather when exposed to outdoors at job sites or other locations.
