LabVIEW Developer

Job Role Summary -

The LabVIEW Developer role encompasses many aspects of LabVIEW developed applications. Application development, maintenance support, designing & building, along with updating existing LabVIEW applications are key responsibilities of this role. This position is expected to provide support and development of LabVIEW applications, along with continuous improvements of the application with supporting business and laboratory needs. Communication, organization, and initiative are key skills needed for this role.

Job Role Responsibilities -

The role will require incumbent to engage with the Laboratory Operations Section of the Upstream Research Company to assess the overall experimental process and provide solutions or enhancements to make the experimental apparatus/system more efficient.

  • Individuals should be able to enhance LabVIEW for experimental apparatuses and related testing initiatives.
  • Work closely with engineers and technicians to develop new systems, provide comprehensive documentation for the systems, and maintain support to ensure system functionality and stability.
  • Develop LabVIEW applications for a laboratory environment.
  • Support & Sustainment of LabVIEW existing systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance.
  • Hardware Research & Recommendation.

Requirements -

  • Communication skills, teamwork, and creativity are of utmost importance to excel in this role.
  • An attitude and mindset of complete safety in all aspects of the role is necessary for the successful candidate, along with the following relevant skills.
  • 2- or 4- year college degree in IT or Computer Science
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in use/administration of LabVIEW
  • Certifications - Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD or better)
  • Experience integrating mechanical and electronic controls, understanding of instrumentation and P&ID diagrams, control logic, safety integrated systems and controls, Administrative and Teamwork.
  • Basic documentation preparation/technical writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

Technical Skills & Competencies - Industry experience in the following areas:

  • Developing architecture and software used in testing and experimental apparatuses.
  • Developing user interfaces.
  • Experience with using Actor Framework.
  • Knowledge of NI hardware and basic circuitry.
