Job Description


This role will be responsible for performing administrative and analytical duties to support the Corporate and Direct Materials Procurement function. Work assignments will be given by the Procurement Director and Direct Materials Manager for the specific services required including the functions detailed below.

This position requires a dependable person capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail. The candidate needs to have initiative and the ability to prioritize responsibilities with time sensitive deadlines, plus possess highly effective organization and coordination skills.


Raw Material Procurement Support (50%)

* Serve as analyst to support the Direct (raw materials) Category Managers with responsibility for supplier management, data analysis, stakeholder support, market research and quote support.

* Responsible for data mining, data analysis, and market analysis utilizing tools such as ERP systems (SAP, JDE), business warehouse and Microsoft applications.

* Establish and maintain report templates and dashboards to track current and forecasted spend.

* Support Category Managers in fulfillment of their objectives including tracking and maintaining metrics in the Corporate SharePoint dashboard system.

* Support Category Managers in conducting strategic sourcing events which includes administrative and analytical support of the quote, negotiations and contract.

* Interact with suppliers to acquire and validate required data.

* Support Category Managers in in conducting the scorecards to measure supplier performance and continuous improvement.

Procurement Administration Support (50%)

* Maintain the Westlake Procurement Intranet Page and ensure accuracy and currency of information and content.

* Coordinate events meetings and training sessions for the Corporate Procurement team.

* Support Category Managers in conducting the scorecards process which measures supplier performance and drives continuous improvement.

* Periodic reporting of key government indices and economic analysis.

* Provide administrative support for the Corporate Procurement team including maintaining office supplies, mail distribution and general duties as assigned by the Procurement Director.

* Assist with budget preparation and maintenance.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Suite of products. Exceptional oral and written skills required. Professional appearance and demeanor are necessary.


Typically requires an Associates or Bachelor's degree, with a minimum of 2 years of experience. Strong Microsoft Power Point, Word, Excel, and computer based application skills; SAP experience is highly desirable. Strong written, verbal communication skills, as well as effective presentation skills are required. Strong analytical skills required.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.
