E/I CAD Design Specialist

Job Summary

Performs job duties under direct supervision,perform a variety of electrical and instrument drawing corrections for projectexecutions. Support drawing modifications and activities that support executionof capital projects. Work typically performed in office and field.


* The individual must personally set a good example with following all rules and regulations to achieve 100% universal compliance with HS&E (Health, Safety & Environmental) Procedures/Regulations.

* Participate in safety audits or surveillances.

* General understanding of P&IDs and PFD's and learn/understand symbols.

* Learn, review and integrate vendor schematics and drawings into site-based designs.

* Perform redline incorporations for current plant drawings.

* Create drawings with oversight and direction from Senior Designers.

* Learn electrical and instrument design practices through creating schematics, loop diagrams, single line diagrams, instrument details, plan drawings and Process Flow and Process & Instrument Diagrams.

* Work with Senior Designers in developing electrical and instrument design packages to meet process improvement projects.

* Become exposed to process packages to understand design requirements.

* Participate in system walk downs to understand deficiencies, compliance to design and customer requirements with Sr. Designers and Engineers.

* Learn/demonstrate applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures.

* Learn construction practices as required, insuring compliance with operations and executed using federal, state, local and plant codes/policies.

* Must be able to analyze field data in operating facilities.

* Travel 10%


Minimum Qualifications:

* High School Diploma

* 2-5 years of AutoCAD or equivalent Certification of its use.

* Minimum 1 years' experience in an industrial manufacturing facility (chemical, pulp/paper, refinery, etc.).

* Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).

* General understanding of Safety programs and PPE requirements.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills with personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Associates Degree in Electrical and or Instrument design.
