Hillsboro, Oregon / MSD - Electron Microscopy / Technical Training & Documentation

How will you make an impact?

We deliver high quality, easy accessible and innovative technical training, documentation and process support to our internal and external customers enabling them to perform their job safely, efficiently and effectively.

What will you do?

* Work with a great team

* Gather and organize source materials for use in writing

* Manage updates and revisions to technical documentation

* Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style and content

* Write end-user documentation

* Edit, format, track and publish documentation received from subject matter experts

Translate technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for end users. May document engineering processes and specifications. Recommend formats responsive to technical and customer requirements. Produce products that conform to the company documentation and quality assurance standards.

How will you get here?

Education

Have a passion for technical writing, but a degree and/or discipline are a plus.

Experience

* This is an entry level position

* Prefer experience in a high tech manufacturing and/or field service environment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

* Typically a college degree is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrate the required skills

* Must possess a high degree of familiarity with typical documentation programs and formats for technical documentation and training materials (i.e., MS word, Adobe Acrobat, FrameMaker, SharePoint, TeamCenter, Content Management Systems)

* Prior experience in developing similar types of documentation for technical publications and written training materials

* Skilled at prioritization, organization, and multi-tasking

* Ability to work in a fast paced environment where attention to detail is critical

* Must possess excellent communication ability

* Must have a professional working proficiency in English

* Preference for candidates who can demonstrate successful project work in cross-functional and cross-cultural international work teams

* Strong computer skills
