Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We design, manufacture, and support the broadest range of high-performance microscopy workflows that provide images and answers in the micro-, nano-, and picometer scales for the electronics, life sciences, and materials science markets. We are growing our talented Mechanical Engineering team as we develop new innovative, automated solutions. This position is located in Hillsboro, OR.

Responsibilities:

* Own the design of components and sub-assemblies for highly customized, multi-million dollar microscopes with sub-nanometer resolution by working closely with, and learning from, world class Marketing, Project Management, Operations, suppliers, and engineers and scientists of diverse backgrounds.

* Concept, layout, and detail designs with analysis and testing as appropriate.

* Integration, validation, and troubleshooting.

* Support release to production.

* Develop into a technical subject matter expert.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

* 5+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.

* Precision machine design proficiency, including a strong familiarity with manufacturing techniques and capabilities, internal and external standards, GD&T, and design for manufacturability.

* Experience with automation, parts handling, integration, validation, troubleshooting, and characterization.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Advanced technical degrees in Mechanical Engineering or a related field such as Physics.

* Experience or familiarity with microscopy, vacuum, contamination, charged particle optics, high voltage, ceramics, semiconductor processes, vibration, thermal, and/or stress analysis.
