Job Description
The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager candidate is expected to primarily lead a weapon system-based Quality Assurance Team that directly supports the overall Quality Management System (QMS) of our government customers, as well as providing that same level of robust support to our local internal BAE Systems Air Force Strategic Programs group. As such, the QA Manager will develop, implement, and directly manage all applicable Quality Assurance Program requirements, plans, and procedures for the ICBM Directorate (AFNWC/NI) and BAE Systems internally. Using sound leadership, guidance, and technical communication skills, the QA Manager will enable the BAE Systems QA team to support weapon system demonstration and validation to assure that all systems, subsystems, and end items remain operationally safe/secure, suitable, and effective (OSS&E) across the life cycle of the overall weapon system, in accordance with the Government Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP) Annual Progress Report.
The QA Manager will: 1) support all government stakeholders in weapon system risk management by monitoring the Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS) to include processing, reviewing and managing Deficiency Reports, and coordinating them with the applicable IPTs and/or Subsystem Program Managers; 2) monitor the GIDEP for information relevant to MMIII and all subsystems and support equipment; 3) lead the QA team in the review, analysis, and reporting of quality discrepancies and data related to production; 4) lead investigations into identified problems and develop disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies; 5) interface with external and internal stakeholders to ensure all weapon system and BAE internal requirements are met; 6) lead process improvement efforts to include development of corrective actions, dispositions, process optimization, and modifications.
Additionally the QA Manager will: 1) ensure that performance and the contractual delivery of high quality products conform to established government, company and regulatory standards, and: 2) support the BAE Systems, Inc. Director of Air Force Strategic Programs (AFSP) in internal and external business entities conformance.
Typical Education & Experience Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education

15 years Quality Management System (QMS) Experience, or BS and 10+ years QMS experience or Masters and 5+ years QMS experience; Must have 5+ years of DoD Government QMS experience (Total Quality Management (TQM), AFSO 21, Malcolm Baldrige Award, Quality Circles, Rapid Improvement Events (ROEs), etc...)
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS 9100 Standards;
• Hands on experience in risk analysis is required;
• Working knowledge of root cause analysis, problem solving and statistical methods as applied to process and product quality.
• Reliability assessment experience and statistical analysis skills including a working knowledge of CPI/LSS tools and techniques
• Hands on knowledge in the effective use of Corrective and Preventative actions
• Hands on troubleshooting experience
• Technical problems solving
• Inspection and testing techniques
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Access
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently
The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. An active Secret clearance is preferred but not required.

Preferred Skills and Education

* Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
* BS/MS in an Engineering discipline from an ABET accredited University
* Knowledge and experience of nuclear weapon systems, specifically ICBM MMIII
* Experience with Air Force Weapon Systems OSS&E roles and responsibilities
* Lead Auditor certification in ISO9001 or AS9100
* Experience with Quality Management in a CMMI certified organization
* Experience auditing Quality Management Systems conformance for internal/external business entities
