Learning Developer

UDR located in beautiful Highlands Ranch Colorado is seeking a Learning Developer for our Training Division.

In this position you will work closely with the Director of Training and Development while executing new and existing development to test, deploy and evaluate.

GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Develop, test, deploy, and evaluate UDR learning materials. Facilitate the implementation of instructional innovations. Design and develop learning materials to meet various training needs of the organization. Utilize sound instructional design approaches in conjunction with applying current trends in learning design, delivery and evaluation.

Design and develop instructional approaches and interactive courseware to meet training requirements. Implement a systematic approach to designing learning using applying current trends in learning design and evaluation. Conduct assessment and analysis to identify new development needs and recommends training methods accordingly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Design, code, test, debug, document, and support various types of learning within established specifications and learning requirements that ensure specific learning goals are accomplished.

Conduct training needs analyses, design, and develop instructionally sound e-learning and instructor-led training for a variety of clients.

Design and develop performance support solutions, including on-line help and job aids.

Work directly with the Sr Dir – Training to lead in the implementation and further development of the company's strategies relating to e-learning and to prioritize activity.

Apply and modify various instructional design models and instructional system components to develop storyboarding, instructional, and learning systems which will drive consistency and quality in all performance and learning for UDR.

Explore and evaluate new technologies, materials, and techniques for their applicability to educational uses.

Develop tools to review materials and learner performance, and proactively recommend improvements.

Create project plans that include work break-down structures and timelines incorporating UDR methodology and tools to ensure that learning development requirements are completed on time and within budget.

Consult with management on design, development, and evaluation of instructional programs, materials, methods, and assessment techniques to promote effective training programs.

Review the company's current programs of teaching and learning to assess their potential for on-line delivery and advise senior HR management on which areas of the curriculum can be re-designed/enhanced using e-learning.

Work closely with clients and subject matter experts to develop training strategies and solutions in the continued development of the corporate vision of maximizing e-learning.

Deliver instructor-led training on systems and applications.

Maintain and update content within existing on-line and classroom-based courses, as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

RequirementsPERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge of the organizations policies and procedures. Knowledge of fiscal management and office management techniques. Knowledge of HR policies and procedures. Ability to apply policies and procedures to solve everyday issues.

Demonstrated ability to develop, proof, and implement training materials. Knowledge of current techniques and procedures used in the graphic design, development, and evaluation of instructional programs, methods, materials, and instruments. Demonstrated ability to research learning environments, classroom assessment techniques and development principles and application. Ability to write instructional objectives. Develop assessment instruments that measure employee learning. Ability to troubleshoot instructional and learning problems in a variety of settings.

Ability to exercise initiative, problem solving and decision making skills. Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities. Ability to travel extensively, when needed. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet critical deadlines. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Performs duties that require strong comprehension, analytical, research, composition, communication, and organizational skills. Knowledge and skill with computer systems and applications. Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials. Ability to proactively recognize and implement superior customer service to internal and external customers.

Knowledge of computer systems and applications. Skilled in the use of spreadsheet, and word processing software. Ability to process computer data to write, format and generate simple reports. Ability to compose, and edit written materials.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate reports. Extensive data input and required ability to sit for long periods of time.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment. Occasional evening or weekend work. Some travel as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent education and experience required.

Minimum of five years' relevant experience in design, development, implementation, and delivery of e-learning, required.

Minimum of three years' relevant experience with Learning Management Systems and with Instructional Design Methodology.

Experience with Adobe Suite, Captivate, HRML, and Javascript, required.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license unless otherwise noted.
