Interventional Technologist II – Highlands Ranch Hospital

Performs imaging and interventional procedures to diagnose and treat cardiac and vascular conditions in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. The Interventional Technologist II position at Highlands Ranch Hospital will provide a unique and diverse experience by assisting with all Interventional Radiology and Interventional Cardiology procedures. We are looking for a highly motivated and engaged individual that is willing to work well in an integrated team. Relevant equipment listed below:

* Phillips bi-plane and single plane fluoroscopy

* Phillips Xper hemodynamic monitoring

* Acist injector

* Phillips Epiq 7 ultrasound

Position Highlights/Responsibilities

* Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.

* Assists physician with performing diagnostic and therapeutic vascular interventional procedures. Performs related imaging procedures.

* Analyzes results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

* Assists with monitoring patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

* Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.

* Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.


* Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program

* 1 year of Interventional Radiology Experience

Licenses and Certifications

* Registered as a Technologist (RT) and certified in vascular-interventional radiology (VI) or cardiac-interventional radiology (CI) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies (ARRT).

* State licensure if required by law.

* BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

* ACLS within 1 year of hire
