Sr. Sales Engineer- North East

About the Job:

This position will be responsible for leading technical pre-sales engagements with Fortune 1000 customers and taking a lead role in the broader Pre-Sales Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience with solution sales involving software and infrastructure components and SaaS and/or video. Candidate should be located in NY/ PA/ NJ, DC, VA or MD.

Responsibilities:

* Support targeted sales opportunities and perform product demonstrations

* Act is a Subject Matter Expert for peers- internal and external

* Take on a leadership role as necessary to lead and drive projects

* Provide pre-sales support for new and existing customers, coordinating closely with assigned in-region Sales Territory Manager(s)

* Train select channel partners on how to use and sell VBrick products

* Provide technical response to RFx's, bids, and proposals

* Communicate customer and field engineering knowledge and feedback to internal resources

* Communicate and facilitate joint development with partners in a technical capacity

* Provide regional tradeshow support

* Whiteboarding and technical sessions with customers and partners

* Technical quote generation and management during the sales lifecycle

* Work closely with regional sales reps and inside sales reps

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

* 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as sales engineering, professional services consulting, or technical support.

* Excellent customer-facing skills including a demonstrated track-record of interfacing with enterprise clients.

* Superb presentation, demonstration, and communication skills

* Strong knowledge of:

o streaming media knowledge

o enterprise network infrastructure

o network security

o Internet and network topology

o SaaS architecture

* Experience with at least two of the following categories of technologies:

o Video – H.264, HLS, DASH, MPEG4, etc

o Networking – Unicast, multicast, firewalls, route/switch. etc

o Cloud Computing – AWS, cloud security reviews, HTTPS encryption, etc

o Infrastructure – SAN/NAS, WAN optimization, VMWare, etc

* Strong work ethic and a "get-the-job-done" attitude are necessary in our fast-paced, startup-like environment.

* Travel of 25-50% within the territory is required with potential for out of territory or international travel as necessary
