Plans & Programs Bureau Chief

The Construction and Facilities Maintenance Office (CFMO) is seeking a Plans & Program Bureau Chief to lead the planning and project management activities, and the GIS, Planning, and Real Property team. Responsibilities include developing and implementing comprehensive plans and programs for the development, construction, maintenance, and use of statewide military facilities, installations and land. The Bureau Chief develops approaches and solutions to challenges faced by the programs and works with stakeholders to cultivate support for Department initiatives. The Bureau Chief coordinates Bureau activities with those of other bureaus and divisions; develops long and short range plans; and implements and directs projects and plans of high priority to the Department. The Bureau Chief is responsible for the section budget and must administer policies affecting a broad range of military facility and land planning issues, public relations, legislative relations, public policy stances and Departmental resources and mission. This position supervises five positions and reports to the Deputy CFMO.

Required education & experience: Bachelors degree in planning, engineering, architecture, or a related field with coursework in planning, and seven years planning experience, including program management, supervisory and government experience.

Requires knowledge of construction and engineering principles and practices, environmental and legal compliance processes, governmental accounting and budgeting, strategic planning and resource allocation, progressively responsible personnel management. Must have attention to detail, ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships, possess strong written and communication skills. Must have the ability to engage and work in diverse working environments.
