The Career Development Coordinator position involves ensuring the delivery of effective and quality service to students and graduates in career readiness workshops, classroom seminars, externship set up, career employment assistance and career advising.  You’ll use your talents and expertise to assist our students in finding the right career fit. 

 

 

Unitek College is seeking candidates for the position of Career Development Coordinator to work at our Hayward campus and will be working closely current students and recent graduates to assist them in finding gainful employment.  

  

Job responsibilities include:
  • Generate job leads for graduates through frequent daily phone calls and email solicitation.

  • Build strong relationships with students, graduates, and hiring managers from local companies.

  • Achieve at least 75% successful job placement results for each class.

  • Document all contact with students in student information data base (CampusVue) including all successful graduate employment results.

  • Conduct periodic employer site visits in the local area.

  • Provide mock interview training for students.

  • Deliver monthly career and professional development workshops for each program.

  • Audit student files and correct errors and omissions.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, especially on the telephone.

  • Patience and flexibility to adapt to changes.

  • Energy and organizational skills for multi-tasking.

  • Dependability for being at work, arriving on time, and following instructions.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.


 

A Bachelor degree is preferred. 

 

This is an entry level position.  However, prior work experience in sales, staffing, or career college placement is helpful.  On the job training will be provided.
