EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: Four-year degree in Business or related experience in purchasing in the foodservice industry involving Inventory Planning and Forecasting. Individual must be detail oriented with excellent communication and data management skills. The individual must be self-motivated with strong time management and organizational skills. Candidate must be proficient in current software applications (Microsoft Office Suite, internet navigation, etc.).

ATTRIBUTES NEEDED: Strong communication skills to manage information between the Purchasing Team, Division Operations Teams, Division Sales Teams and suppliers; ability to perform at a high level within a stressful environment; strong work ethic; goal oriented strategic thinker; structured and disciplined approach to time management.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

Primary responsibilities are planning and forecasting of assigned suppliers and maintaining a high service level to our customers, both internal and external, with an emphasis on providing exceptional customer service.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

* Place orders with assigned suppliers, review Daily Out-of-Stock report and critical items daily, coordinate fill in orders when necessary to maintain service level goals, communicate with logistics to ensure proper freight rates are applied correctly to vendors and maximize efficiencies, maintain accurate information on vendors and pricing in the AS400 and Clarity Planning and Forecasting.

* Manage obsolete and aging inventory and provide solutions to minimize losses surrounding shrink.

* Communicate with sales to inform them of shortages, market information, vendor issues and opportunity buys when appropriate.

* Work with inbound logistics department to maximize route profitability and freight revenue.

* Work with marketing department in planning and implementation of marketing program components (Food Shows, Flyers, DSR Promotions, Sales Contests, etc.)

* Maintain knowledge of foodservice products, trends, market conditions, prices and supply through daily contact with assigned suppliers, procurement, sales representatives and trade publications.

* Attend and actively participate in sales meetings and other company events when required.
