Project Manager - Engineering

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To develop project scopes, and then supervise, coordinate and manage multiple construction, repairs and maintenance projects. Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serve as on-site representative related to operational, commercial, expansion, and development of projects. • Provide preliminary work scope and budgeting details of assigned projects/work items. • Manage budgets of multiple projects • Create bid packages and scopes for contractors. • Coordinate the bidding process to ensure competitive and effective costing. • Interact with contractors in selection process. • Input requisitions for purchase orders. • Interact with contractors throughout construction • Hands-on field management with full responsibility of capital projects • Provide project management to ensure that they are completed on time and on budget. • Actively participate in the process to develop terminal objectives. • Advise senior management of progress toward objectives and develop strategies for necessary adjustments. • Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient and cost effective operation. • Effectively interface with customer representatives, regulators, KM staff and others as required. • Interact with maintenance and operations during construction and completion of capital projects for smooth turnover to both departments • Meet deadlines set by sales and operations • Provide assistance to operations and maintenance department to ensure trouble free operation of terminal equipment • Assist maintenance with Safety Related Requests • Provide guidance to maintenance for solutions to Safety Team requests • Interact with operations, maintenance management and sales with a focus on safety and customer service. •Develop process flow and mechanical flow diagrams •Perform necessary engineering calculations and develop engineering data sheets •Review and approve engineering documents and drawings (both internally and supplier) •Direct experience with pumps, piping systems and tanks •Familiar with thermodynamics and fluid calculations (i.e.; heat losses, pump sizing) • Other functions as trained and assigned.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • BS Degree in Engineering with experience in engineering or industrial work such as Liquid Bulk Terminals, Petro-Chem Industry, or Marine Transportation. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • 5-7 years of related work experience in industrial construction, repairs or maintenance. Experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. • Must be familiar with liquid terminal systems and operations or equivalent. • Must have working knowledge of and experience with AutoCad. CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: • Must possess valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record that meets company standards and it's insurers. • Ability to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as administered by TSA (Transportation Security Administration). • Successful completion of company pre-employment background check, drug screen and other related testing upon job offer. COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Effectively communicate, orally (face to face and by telephone) and in writing, in English with coworkers, contractors, government officials and Senior Management. • Read and understand written material (in English), including use and understanding of basic numerical calculations. • Ability to complete HAZ-MAT, DOT, Confined Space, and Lockout/Tagout training. • Must be able to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problems. • Must possess supervisory skills and be able to effectively manage contractors. • Must possess well-developed interpersonal skills to supervise, lead, and direct personnel. • Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and makes adjustments quickly as needed. • Able to analyze financial and cost data and develop conclusions and recommendations. • Ability to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other people. • Must have intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point). • Must possess strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with both company and contract employees. • Must be goal-orientated, self-motivated and able to work independently. • Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Must be willing to work in protected areas at heights greater than six (6) feet above ground. • Must be able to work over water (dock). • Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
