Job Description

This role sits within our Financial & Risk ("F&R") business. On January 30, 2018, Thomson Reuters announced that it signed a definitive agreement to enter into a strategic partnership with private equity funds managed by Blackstone related to the company's F&R business. As part of the transaction, Thomson Reuters has agreed to sell a 55% majority stake in Financial & Risk and will retain a 45% interest in the business. Thomson Reuters will maintain full ownership of its Legal, Tax & Accounting and the Reuters News businesses. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of the year and is subject to specified regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The Computer Operator will be responsible for the successful running and execution of all systems and equipment necessary in a large-scale, 24x7 environment to complete the batch cycle for the night and ensure that all benchmarks are met going into the next day.

Routine duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Monitoring the batch cycle, interacting with file transfers, mainframe equipment, and midrange processes using a variety of procedures and tools.

* Responding to system requests and resolving them in a timely manner.

* Managing all incidents from start to resolution, including appropriate escalation, as well as documenting the incidents accurately and thoroughly.

* Interact and effectively communicate both in writing and verbally with co-workers and support teams, as well as a variety of internal and external clients.

Hours for the position are 8:00am – 4:00pm CT, Monday through Friday. Flexibility to cover holiday and weekend shifts when necessary is required, as is the ability for occasional travel.

Qualifications:

The ideal applicant will have a background and 2+ years of experience with IBM mainframe systems and operations, including:

* DASD, GRIDs (VTS),HMCs, PORs, and IPLs

* TSO (SDSF)

* JCL, including overrides and restarts

* Scheduling packages (ZEKE)

* File transfers (NDM and FTP)

* Changeman Software

* GDPS (Data Replication)

Additional knowledge in the following areas is also necessary:

* PC use, including the Microsoft Office suite and Outlook

* Incident management (REMEDY and Service Manager 9)
