Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

This position will have responsibility for Business Insurance Workstation. Build and maintain valued business partner relationships with Business Unit Leaders and enterprise functional partners across BI, Operations, Technology. Facilitates the strategy development and management process at the Business Unit level and translates into execution roadmaps and plans. Leads the design, build and implementation of key initiatives in the BI Core Strategies. Work with project sponsors, business leads and subject matter experts to scope initiatives and deliver stated benefits/objectives. Develops and manages the processes and metrics necessary to assess business implications, identify resources, monitor financial and organizational implications of decisions and communicate decisions to appropriate audiences. Manages a governance process that provides the right level of discipline and oversight to ensure changes implemented consider organizational implications and optimize appropriate resources. Ensures initiatives are aligned to strategy and business priorities across business unit/market as well as across BI shared capabilities. Responsible for leveraging best practices and standards in delivery and strategic execution management with focus on core capabilities of: program and project management, business analyst and business configuration, QA Testing/Centers of Excellence, program and change management-communication, and business readiness planning. Serves as overall liaison with business sponsors and executives. Establishes processes, measures, and metrics to ensure continuous feedback loop that track progress against goals. Oversee schedules at risk, communicate and mitigate risk to stakeholders, and ensure teams have appropriate support to meet goals. Secure and aligns resources and understands interdependencies of projects, impacts.

Job Summary

As member of the Business Insurance Strategic Planning & Execution (SP&E) leadership team, contributes to the business's financial and operational performance by applying a comprehensive understanding of the commercial business, strategy, and program management expertise to ensure development of appropriate business strategies and execution of related critical business initiatives. The VP, SP&E facilitates the development, management and delivery of large and complex business and platform programs and projects that support achievement of Business Insurances (BI) strategic goals. This position is responsible for facilitating development of long-term business strategies and establishing strategic alignment and deployment of program and portfolio management standards, methodology, tools and resource deployment and organizational change management methodology. Through direct and indirect means, the VP, SP&E will mentor and develop teams responsible for program management, providing thought-leadership and disciple excellence. In addition, this leader will partner with the businesses on strategies that are shared across business unit groups, or more broadly across Business Insurance. Building collaborative relationships and partnerships across the various business units is critical to the success of this role. This position leads a team of resources (in some situations matrixed resources) aligned to the business. Reports to the head SP&E.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge

10+ years of progressively responsible experience in an IT/Business/Program Management environment. Insurance or financial services industry experience strongly desired.

Bachelor's degree required.
